★★★★

“Time,”the new single by Cleveland indie band Above The Atlantic, represents both a reinforcement of the strengths they established with their eponymous 2010 debut album, and the addition of some new features to their sound.

The boys of ATA play to their strong sense of blending, with the guitar, bass and drums fitting together to make a strong backdrop for the lead vocals, with the instrumentation’s variation making the music as interesting to listen to as the words. The Beach Boys-inspired harmonies on the chorus nicely fill out and color the sonic landscape of the song, giving the track a filled, rich tone. With the lyrics focusing on the ups-and-downs of life, one might hope that the band will be looking up with this single; it is a strong piece of indie-pop music, and reflects the talent and potential in this young band.
